BGPS Invites Families to Full-Day Kindergarten Discussion

October 13, 2015

The Battle Ground Public Schools Board of Directors invites community members to a joint meeting with the district's Facilities Improvement Team (FIT) on Thursday, Oct. 15 to help brainstorm ways the district can accommodate state-funded full-day kindergarten at its primary schools. District staff will provide background information on the state requirements placed on full-day kindergarten and an overview of current kindergarten programs in the district.

The school district's facilities and operations department will use the information gathered at the FIT meeting to explore options for providing state-funded full-day kindergarten. The volunteer Facilities Improvement Team is working to prioritize facilities needs in a long-range plan that would accommodate full-day kindergarten at all schools as well as meet other facilities needs supporting 21st century learning and accommodate a growing population of students.

Community members are welcome to attend and participate in the discussion. The FIT meeting will be held at its regular time, 4 - 5:30 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Lewisville Campus, 406 NW Fifth Ave., Building C, Room C-26. Visit www.battlegroundps.org/fit to learn more about the team's work over the past year.
