Summer facilities projects nearing completion

August 11, 2016


Crews have been working at Battle Ground schools this summer to make scheduled maintenance and repairs and prepare additional classrooms for full-day kindergarten. Staff have acquired and are moving furniture and equipment into nearly 30 new classrooms and moving another 100-plus classrooms to accommodate our growing district. Work will be completed by the time students return to school Sept. 7. Some schools have been the site of major projects, including
  • Amboy playfield renovation
  • Battle Ground High School
  • Painting and repairs at the welding shop
  • Asphalt repair and recoating
  • East gym bleacher replacement
  • Additional cooler installation and sitework for Nutrition Services
  • Replacing old cafeteria tables at Captain Strong Primary
  • New 10-plex modular classroom installation at Chief Umtuch Middle and Pleasant Valley Primary schools
  • CASEE A HVAC replacement
  • Additional classrooms (three)  in the Laurin Middle School shop building and asphalt repair to the courtyard
  • Window glazing replacement at Maple Grove
  • Final phase of the Prairie High School parking lot replacement and the new mental health counseling offices
  • Exterior paint at Pleasant Valley
  • Yacolt parking lot renovation in the student pick up area and a new sidewalk in the back of the building
