Prairie High School to host the Falcon Invitational Speech and Debate tournament

October 27, 2016


Prairie High School will host the Falcon Invitational Speech and Debate tournament on Fri., Nov. 4 and Sat., Nov. 5. Competitive rounds of debate and various speech events will take place from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The tournament is free and open to the public. The PHS debate team was the 2015-16 District IV 3A champions.

The event is in need of community judges for the competitive events. No experience is necessary to be a judge. Anyone interested in judging may contact PHS English teacher Leah Zika at (360) 885-5033 or zika.leah@battlegroundps.org for more information.

“The Falcon Invitational Speech and Debate tournament is a great opportunity to see students demonstrate knowledge, skills, abilities and academic excellence,” said Zika.
