2017–18 COMMUNITY REPORT | 11 In 2017-18, Battle Ground's educational programs, maintenance and operations levy provided educational programs and facility services that enable the district to focus on the whole child and engage students in quality learning environments. Voters approved a four-year replacement levy in February, 2017. Beginning in 2018-19, changes to how the state funds public education means that local levies will be capped for Washington school districts. LEVY DOLLARS ENABLE QUALITY LEARNING WHERE LEVY DOLLARS ARE SPENT Overall 2017-18 allocation of $33.3 million includes $6.5 million of levy equalization funds from the state.
