2017–18 COMMUNITY REPORT | 9 The district budgeted $10.3 million to maintain and preserve the community's investment in schools and provide safe, clean and secure learning environments. Of that, the district spent $1.5 million on larger summer projects, including: ■ Repaired floor cracks in student wing and painted the exterior at Amboy Middle ■ ■ Installed a new HVAC unit at CASEE C ■ ■ Replaced hallway carpets and the gym floor at Captain Strong Primary ■ ■ Made accessibility upgrades to restrooms at Laurin Middle School ■ ■ Repaired the roof for Nutrition Services and Building A at the Lewisville campus ■ ■ Repaired and replaced sidewalks and flooring at Maple Grove K-8 ■ ■ Replaced the gym bleachers and installed scoreboards at Prairie High School ■ ■ Widened the entry and revised the turn lanes at the Pleasant Valley campus ■ ■ Replaced flooring at Yacolt Primary ■ ■ Replaced six restroom floors and resurfaced the basketball court at Battle Ground High School ■ ■ Replaced the turf, repaired the asphalt, and removed and replaced the track surfacing at District Stadium DISTRICT INVESTS IN FACILITIES MAINTENANCE AND PRESERVATION COMMUNITY BENEFITS FROM FACILITIES USE Battle Ground's classrooms and fields are used for more than just learning. The community rents the district's fields and facilities to host sports, faith, club and and community events.
