Courses are organized into six categories: We are pleased to offer multiple classes in each category to help you meet Washington State certification requirements (15 STEM clock hours + 15 TPEP clock hours). The schedule of classes is color-coded by section for your convenience. Last spring, Jen Havig, an English teacher at Prairie High School, created and administered a survey on professional development needs for certificated staff. A large number of staff responded with strong representation from all content areas. This catalog of courses is a direct response to areas identified by teachers as important to their professional development. High interest topics identified by Battle Ground teachers in the survey included brain-based learning, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), increasing student engagement, growth mindset and classroom management to name a few. We hope you take advantage of the various options presented in this schedule of classes. Please review sections on how to register for classes in ProDev and how to access Professional Learning Day (PLD) funds to pay yourself to attend classes. This is a beginning effort to shift professional development opportunities outside of the school day to minimize the impact of substitute shortages on the district.
