Emphasis is on building a body of work and portfolio for professional pursuits. Business management procedures, leadership roles and job skills are addressed. The course may be taken more than once, especially when building a strong commercial arts portfolio is the goal. Housing, Interiors, and Furnishings Course Code: HEC008 State Code: 19263 Schools: BGHS Grades: 9-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Course Fee: Yes Prerequisite: None Graduation Requirement: Fine Art or Occupational Course Designation: Design principles and elements, use of color and texture, architectural styles, and current home décor trends are the main focus of this class. Students will complete various projects to incorporate learning, and will design a floor plan, including selection of interior décor as a final project. Careers available in this field will also be explored. Jewelry and Metal Design I Course Code: VTI137 State Code: 05166 Schools: BGHS Grades: 9-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Course Fee: Yes Prerequisite: None Graduation Requirement: Fine Art or Occupational Course Designation: CADR That class unites creative and personal expression through the creation of wearable and usable art. Students will solder, etch, and fabricate small metal items. Students will discover their love of small personalized art through: enameling glass to metal in miniature kilns, molten glass formed through torch work, metal casting, metal wrapping, metal forming, and metal fabrication. Art work is not limit- ed to wearable art but simply expresses small works of art. Students will build on previously developed skills through metal forming, enameling, metal clay and casting. This programs primary focus is to create a high quality professional wearable and sellable work of art.
