Each student will work individually on a portfolio of high quality, which can be used for seeking a job after graduation. Has your band recorded a demo that just didn't cut it? Wonder why commercials are louder than other programs? Take audio production and learn professional audio recording and mixing techniques, produce sound for live events and multimedia productions and record, mix and master studio recordings. Train to be an audio professional and help make our school sound better. Learn more advanced studio recording and mixing techniques including mic choice and placement, recording and editing dialogue and sound, MIDI recording, acoustic room treatment and more. Help plan, program and run sound for multiple live events during the school year including concerts, plays, talent shows, BGTV broadcasts and more. Put your knowledge to work in a live setting. Learn what it takes to take a song from idea to distribution. Video I Course Code: VTI127/VTI227 State Code: 11051 Schools: BGHS, PHS Grades: 9-12th Length: Semester or Year-long Credit: 0.5 1 Course Fee: Yes Prerequisite: None Graduation Requirement: Occupational or Fine Art Course Designation: Ever wanted to make your own music video, movie or television show? Learn the skills required for positions in the video, film and television production industries and develop professional standards and attitudes towards your work. Focus is placed on pre-production, production and post-production skills and techniques, professionalism, leadership and teamwork. Learn professional camera techniques, non-linear editing, audio mixing, scriptwriting and basic studio production. FEE: $5 per year includes videotapes, DVD-R discs for project archiving and a class notebook. Video II Course Code: VTI129/VTI229 State Code: 11051 Schools: BGHS, PHS Grades: 10-12th Length: Semester or Year-long Credit: 0.5 1 Course Fee: Yes Prerequisite: Video I Graduation Requirement: Fine Art or Occupational Course Designation: Video II is a two hour block class. Enhance the skills required for positions in the video, film and television production industries and further develop professional standards and attitudes towards your work. As a member of BGTV you will progress through the ranks of our working television station through group and individual projects, real projects for outside clients and by producing a variety of programs to air on our local station, BGTV Comcast Channel 27. Learn professional cinematography and composition techniques, advanced editing, audio recording and mixing, lighting, special effects, motion graphics, DVD production, scriptwriting and live broadcast directing.
