Game Maker will be used to develop 2 dimensional games including RPG, maze, and platform type games. This is an entry-level course open to all students. No experience is required. Video Game Design II Course Code: VTI340 State Code: 10203 Schools: BGHS, PHS Grades: 9-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Course Fee: None Prerequisite: Video Game Design I Graduation Requirement: Fine Art or Occupational Course Designation: Extend your video game programming skills using Game Maker while designing your own custom games. Work individually or in small groups. Learn how to develop visual characters (sprites) using Gimp, Photoshop, or Game Maker. Video Game Design III Course Code: VTI341 State Code: 10203 Schools: BGHS, PHS Grades: 10-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Course Fee: None Prerequisite: Video Game Design I & II Graduation Requirement: Fine Art or Occupational Course Designation: Explore the advanced features in Game Maker to produce more complex games. Topics may include using AI, the physics engine, and multi-player network games. Video Game Design IV Course Code: VTI342 State Code: 10203 Schools: BGHS, PHS Grades: 10-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Course Fee: None Prerequisite: Video Game Design III Graduation Requirement: Fine Art or Occupational Course Designation: Explore the advanced features in Game Maker to produce more complex games. Topics may include using AI, the physics engine, and multi-player network games. Web Design I Course Code: VTI133 State Code: 10201 Schools: BGHS/PHS Grades: 9-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Course Fee: None Prerequisite: Internet Release Form Graduation Requirement: Fine Art or Occupational Course Designation: This class is designed to help even the novice computer user design and create their own web pages. Graphics and design concepts will be taught, as well the web programming language of HTML. Students will work with raw programming languages as well as template programs such as Dreamweaver. This is a hands-on, project oriented class, with a minimum of two major design projects —a personal web page and a web page in collaboration with another teacher, club, or based in community service organization. Students will be introduced to advanced web design tools such as Flash.
