We will build upon the skills developed in the Beginning Drafting course, utilizing Autodesk's CADD software. We will focus on the development of the basic skills and operations used by engineers, architects and draftspersons to express design ideas on paper. Learn the basic skills necessary to transfer ideas from sketches to either 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional space within a variety of software packages. CADD Projects I Course Code: VTI300 State Code: 21101 Schools: BGHS, PHS Grades: 9-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Course Fee: Fee required Prerequisite: Beginning CADD Graduation Requirement: Occupational or Elective Course Designation: This class is for the student that wishes to expand their knowledge of CADD processes and applications. This is the first of two courses that will allow the student to explore additional areas of CADD including mechanical/ manufacturing engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, and design drafting. The stu- dents will work with the Machine Technology students to design and manufacture products. CADD Projects II Course Code: VTI301 State Code: 21101 Schools: BGHS, PHS Grades: 10-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Course Fee: Fee required Prerequisite: CADD Projects I Graduation Requirement: Occupational or Elective Course Designation: A continuation of CADD Projects I. Students will build upon what they have already studied in CADD Projects I and develop skills in 3-dimensional applications. This course will allow the students to begin to focus on their area of interest and complete specialized projects in that area of study. Students interested in mechanical en- gineering will work with the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) course to design and manufacture products. Advanced CADD Projects Course Code: VTI302 State Code: 21102 Schools: BGHS, PHS Grades: 11-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Course Fee: Fee required Prerequisite: CADD Projects II Graduation Requirement: Occupational or Elective Course Designation: Further exploration of CADD concepts developed in the CADD Projects I and II courses. Computer Integrated Manufacturing Course Code: VTI038/VTI238 State Code: 21010 Schools: PHS Grades: 10-12th Length: Year-long Credit: 1 Course Fee: Fee required Prerequisite: Completion of Introduction to Engineering Design and Algebra I Graduation Requirement: Occupational or Elective Course Designation: Computer Integrated Manufacturing is a course that applies principles of rapid prototyping, robotics, and automation. This course builds upon the computer solid modeling skills developed in Introduction to Engineering Design. Students will use computer-controlled rapid prototyping and CNC equipment to solve problems by constructing actual models of their three dimensional designs. Students will also be introduced to the fundamentals of robotics and how this equipment is used in an automated manufacturing envi- ronment. Students will evaluate their design solutions using various techniques of analysis, and make appropriate modifi- cations before producing their prototypes. Computer Programming - JAVA Course Code: VTI157/VTI257 State Code: 10155 Schools: PHS Grades: 10-12th Length: Year-long Credit: 1
