As an Instructional Tutor you are placed in a teacher's classroom that is in need of extra support. Every day you will assist the teacher in instruction and classroom management, and work with other students as a mentor/tutor. The class will explore learning styles, teaching methods, and classroom management strate- gies. In the first semester students will focus on learning about teaching and reflecting on their experiences. In the second semester students will focus on goal setting and improving their practice. Service Learning Course Code: ELE053 State Code: 22997 Schools: SVHS Grades: 9-12th Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 2 Course Fee: Prerequisite: Graduation Requirement: Elective Course Designation: This class is designed for students who are or want to be involved in community service. Students will complete a project log, verified by their community service supervisor, and include one photo of their work each week. Students earn 0.5 elective credit for every 90 hours of non-paid work. A maximum of 2 credits are allowed. Understand the role accounting information plays in the decisions a business makes. Maintain records and prepare financial statements in both manual and computerized environments. Earn col- lege credit for this class, acquire the skills needed to set up an accounting system for your own business, or prepare for entry level employment. Accounting 2 takes the skills learned with a Sole Proprietorship and the Account- ing Cycle for a Corporation as a Merchandising Business. Introduction to Business Course Code: BUS058/BUS258 State Code: 12052 Schools: PHS, SVHS Grades: 10-12th Length: Year-long Credit: 1 Course Fee: Fee required Prerequisite: None Graduation Requirement: Occupational or Elective Course Designation: CTE Dual Credit (PHS) Introduction to Business is a two-semester – 5 college credit hour, college level course, introducing the student to foundational business concepts. Students will learn about the business functions of management, human resources, marketing, law, computers, accounting, finance, production, small business and international business.
