Course Fee: None Prerequisite: None Graduation Requirement: Math Course Designation: CADR The main emphasis of this course includes writing and problem solving linear and quadratic equations, under- standing basic terminology and definitions, learning the four basic operations with polynomials, factoring, applying skills, graphing linear equations, and solving systems of equations. Honors Algebra I Course Code: MTH005/MTH205 State Code: 02052 Schools: CAM Grades: 9-12th Length: Year-long Credit: 1 Course Fee: None Prerequisite: None Graduation Requirement: Math Course Designation: Honors, CADR This is the foundation course for high school (and college) Math. The emphasis is on basic terminology and definitions, the properties, methods of solving linear and quadratic equations, the four basic operations with polynomials, factoring, applying skills through story problems, graphing linear equations, and solving systems of equations. Algebra II Course Code: MTH161/MTH261 State Code: 02056 Schools: BGHS, PHS, RHL, SVHS Grades: 9-12th Length: Year-long Credit: 1 Course Fee: None Prerequisite: Geometry (C or better recommended) Graduation Requirement: Math Course Designation: CADR The purpose of Algebra II is to introduce students to advanced Algebra topics. The topics include functions (domain, range, graphing, transformations) absolute value equations, systems of linear equations, rational expres- sions and equations, quadratic equations, exponentials and logarithms, probability, sequences and series, radicals, and trigonometry. Successfully completing Algebra II pre- pares students to advance to Pre-Calculus and/or Statis- tics and for college level Mathematics courses. Honors Algebra II Course Code: MTH048/MTH248 State Code: 02056 Schools: BGHS, CAM Grades: 9-12th Length: Year-long Credit: 1 Course Fee: None Prerequisite: None Graduation Requirement: Math Course Designation: Honors, CADR Class instruction will include polynomial operations, solving linear and radical equations, factoring, imaginary numbers, complex fractions, advanced abstract equa- tions, nonlinear equations, logarithms and logarithmic equations. Practical application of the Math concepts will be discussed with the goal to prepare students for ad- vanced study in Mathematics, including Advanced Place- ment Math courses. This is an accelerated course covering pre-calculus second semester. Bridge to College Math Course Code: MTH019/MTH219 State Code: WA0003 Schools: BGHS, PHS, RHL, SVHS Grades: 11-12th Length: Year-long Credit: 1 Course Fee: None Prerequisite: None Graduation Requirement: Math Course Designation: CADR—Quantitative This course is a Math course for seniors who scored a 2 on the Smarter Balanced 10th grade assessment. The course curriculum emphasizes modeling with Mathematics and the "Standards for Mathematical Practice" integrated throughout the new state learning standards. Topics in- clude building and interpreting functions (linear, quadrat- ic and exponential), writing, solving and reasoning with equations and inequalities, and summarizing, represent- ing, and interpreting data. Completion of this course can fulfill a graduation pathway requirement in Math.
