District committed to supporting every student Battle Ground Public Schools has successfully delivered classroom instruction for more than a century. With a pandemic disrupting nearly every facet of our lives, this year presented more than its share of unprecedented challenges. For schools, the transition from a traditional classroom model to delivering remote education to the homes of 13,000 students was a monumental task. While the process was not perfect, I am proud of the way our teachers, counselors and support staff pulled together and worked as a team to continue providing all of our students with academic and social-emotional support. I am also impressed by the resilience that our students and families demonstrated as we all navigated a world of new challenges together. One of our top priorities as a district is the health and safety of our students and staff. This priority is at the center of every decision we make. I am grateful to be working in a school district and community that care so deeply about young people. Because of our shared interest in meeting the academic and non-academic needs of all students, I am confident that we will emerge from this crisis as an even stronger district than before. We want you to know that we are here to support you, and will work to answer your questions and continue to deliver quality education to students whether it's in the classroom or at home. Our teachers and school staff are committed to ensuring that our students progress and develop the skills they need to advance to the next grade level—or the next phase in their lives. If you have questions, comments or concerns, we hope that you continue to reach out to our district communications team, myself or board members. Together we can do great things for the students of Battle Ground Public Schools. Sincerely, Mark Ross, Superintendent Battle Ground Public Schools BOARD OF DIRECTORS Troy McCoy, President Mark Watrin, Vice President Monty Anderson, Director Rob Henrikson, Director Jackie Maddux, Director Sydney Cordon, Student Representative Addelynn Smith, Student Representative Our Mission Empower all students to reach their highest potential through innovative, creative and supportive learning environments.
