Students learn social emotional skills
Battle Ground Public Schools continued its quest to help students
navigate life's challenges. Lessons on resilience, problem solving, empathy,
kindness and how to manage emotions teach valuable social skills, while
prevention programs support students in making healthy choices.
After school buildings closed, school counselors reached out to primary
and middle school students to make connections and offer social
emotional support. Counselors developed lessons and strategies that
students could practice on their own or with family members to learn
how to cope with anxious feelings and uncertainties.
"WE ARE COMING TOGETHER
TO SPREAD JOY, KINDNESS
AND UNITY, AND WE WANT TO
INSPIRE STUDENTS TO SPEND
THESE FOUR YEARS MAKING A
DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF
THEIR PEERS AND TEACHERS."

MODELING KINDNESS
During National Bullying Prevention Month in
October, Prairie High School's 'Crimson Crew'
visited middle schools to greet students as
they arrived for the school day with high fives,
candy, and posters with anti-bullying messages.
The Crimson Crew shared its initiative with
campuses across the district, fostering a positive
environment for students.
