Frequently Asked Questions FAQ Do I have to pay for training? No. All training is free of charge. Do I get paid for training? Three clock hours are offered for most courses to certificated employees. In addition, the TRI-day contract awards 105 hours of payment per year for full- time, certificated employees. These hours are stated to cover "Building/District Professional Development Activities, i.e., clock hour courses and collaborative activities." These classes are ideally suited to this. Do I need to bring anything? In most cases, we ask that you bring a good attitude and your brain. For some courses, it might be ideal to bring your own device (your iPad or district-issued laptop, if you have one), but it isn't necessary. We'll provide everything you need, and if we can't, we'll send you an email so you don't forget to bring what's required. Who are the instructors? Our training is led by either Evyan Wagner, our Educational Technology Coordinator, or a team of tech-savvy teachers from The Advanced Technology Academy. Your instructors will be well- informed, patient, and will do his or her best to keep you smiling through instruction. Are there prerequisites? Many of our classes require no prior knowledge. Sometimes, though, you'll need to have a basic foundation of Google skills (saving, sharing, and creating documents) and—occasionally—you'll need to be a little bit of a pro to stay afloat in a class. Please note the level of the course you'll be attending; we don't want you to feel lost or uncomfortable!
