To bridge the gap between what the state pays for and what it actually costs to operate schools, local funding is critical. Battle Ground patrons approved a four-year Replacement Maintenance and Operations levy in 2013 that allows for current educational programs and facility services to continue. As many as 95% of the school districts in the state of Washington rely on levy money to provide important student programs and services. Levy dollars maintain items such as health services, music and art classes, building safety and staff salaries, allowing the district to maintain proper staffing levels in each building. Without the support of levy dollars, the district would lose 18% of its operating budget. Dollars AT W O R K
