For the past year, the district's community-led Facilities Improvement Team has been identifying projects to include in a long-range facilities plan with the goal of providing safe and secure facilities that enhance learning, meet growing enrollment needs and preserve the community's investment in buildings. The facilities team has examined a multitude of data, including information about the age and capacity of school buildings, data about projected growth within the district, and information about various funding options to create categories of projects that could be prioritized into a well-thought-out plan.
The team has identified several types of projects, including new construction, replacement and renovation, educational enhancements and athletic upgrades and more, for patrons to provide feedback on.
BGPS has developed an interactive website that presents an overview of each type of project. Please take a few minutes to read through the projects in preparation for the survey. Parents and staff will receive an invitation email from Thoughtexchange on Feb. 29. Community members can also provide feedback by registering online. An email address is required to participate. Responses are anonymous and will be used to finalize the long-range plan. The survey is a multi-step process. Participants will receive a follow-up survey from Thoughtexchange in a few weeks that lets you prioritize ideas expressed during the first round of the survey.
